No Yeast Homemade Donuts
Ingredients:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 egg
- Oil for frying
- Powdered sugar for dusting
- Optional toppings: chocolate glaze, sprinkles, cinnamon sugar
Instructions:
In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt
In another bowl, whisk together the milk, melted unsalted butter, vanilla extract, and egg
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until a dough forms
Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 1/2-inch thickness
Use a donut cutter or a round cutter to cut out donuts
Use a smaller cutter to remove the centers
Heat oil in a deep fryer or a heavy-bottomed pan to 350F 175C
Carefully add the donuts to the hot oil and fry until they are golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side
Remove the donuts from the oil and drain on paper towels
While the donuts are still warm, dust them with powdered sugar, or dip them in chocolate glaze and add sprinkles or cinnamon sugar if desired
