My Favorite Cream Cheese Spritz Cookies

These Cream Cheese Spritz Cookies are a delightful treat with a tender and buttery texture, thanks to the addition of cream cheese to the classic spritz cookie recipe. They're perfect for holiday baking or any time you crave a sweet and colorful cookie!

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup 226g unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 package 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup 200g granulated sugar
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 2 1/2 cups 312g all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • Food coloring optional
  • Sprinkles or colored sugar optional

Instructions:

Start by heating the oven to 350F 175C

Melt the butter and mix it with the cream cheese and sugar in a large bowl until the mixture is smooth

Mix in the vanilla extract and egg yolk until everything is well mixed

Add the all-purpose flour and salt to a different bowl and mix them together using a whisk

Mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients one at a time until a soft dough forms

If you want, you can divide the dough into smaller pieces and color each one separately

Then, knead the dough until the color is spread out evenly

Follow the directions that came with the cookie press to make the disk shape you want

Put the dough into the cookie press, and then press the dough onto baking sheets that have not been greased

Leave some space between the cookies

If you're using colored sugar or sprinkles, you can decorate the cookies however you like

For 8 to 10 minutes, or until the edges are just beginning to turn golden, bake the cookies

Take the cookies out of the oven and let them cool for a few minutes on the baking sheets

Then, move them to wire racks to cool all the way down

Once the cookies are cool, put them in a container that won't let air in

Have fun with your tasty Cream Cheese Spritz Cookies!
